Bus from Naples to Calitri (Avellino), Campania, ItalyIn order to reach Calitri, one must first catch the bus from Naples to Avellino, then change buses from Avellino to Calitri. It is possible to catch the bus to Avellino from either the Naples Central Train Station or from the Naples Capodichino Airport. From the Naples Airport to Avellino Exit the airport and walk down the main road for 200 meters until you see a large crossing (Tangenziale crossing) and a green gate (there is a car dealership). There is a bus sign for the A.IR bus company. The buses run every hour on the hour from 8:00-21:00. You can check for exact times on the A.IR website: www.air-spa.it • Select Italian as English is not running yet. • Select Percorsi e Orari • Select Partenze da Napoli per Avellino • The hours that are underlined are the times for the buses at Naples Airport. • The hours that are NOT underlined are the times for the buses at Naples Central Train Station. From the Naples Central Train Station to Avellino Exit the train station and look for a 1-level structured building on your Right hand side (it sits right next to the street). There is where you buy a ticket to Avellino – 3.20Euro. The 16.45 (4:45pm) bus is the last A.IR bus you can catch in order to reach Avellino in time for the last DiMaio bus to Calitri which departs at 18,20 (6:20pm). The bus will be A.IR Trans and is usually the 1st or 2nd bus in line but ask the driver “Avellino?” It might look like this or be a double-decker bus. *Naples to Avellino takes a little over an hour. From Avellino to Calitri Once you reach Avellino, DiMaio is the bus you will take from Avellino to Calitri. This ticket you can purchase onboard from the driver. The cost is 3.98Euro. The DiMaio bus sits in the back row and there is a park behind it. The last bus for Calitri departs Avellino at 18,20 (6:20pm) and arrives Calitri at 19.50 (7:50pm). The DiMaio bus schedule From Avellino is as follows: Avellino Departure / Calitri Arrival 06.35 / 08.05 12.00 / 13.37 14.15 / 15.45 18.20 / 19.50 19.30 / 21.00 Please note that the bus that is highlighted in red is the only bus that runs on Sunday (it runs on weekdays and Saturdays too). The bus makes stops along the way at Lioni, B.Morra, and Conza. *Please note: the A.IR & DiMaio buses do not run on Easter, Christmas, and on New Year’s. In addition, in August and during school holidays the Saturday timetable applies to the days of the week. To be sure that the bus schedule is up to date, we strongly suggest checking for any possible revisions in timetable on the A.IR company website at www.air-spa.it. Bus from Calitri to Naples In order to reach Naples, one must first catch the bus from Calitri to Avellino, then change buses from Avellino to Naples. It is possible to catch the bus from Avellino to either the Naples Central Train Station or to the Naples Capodichino Airport. From Calitri to Avellino The bus departs from Calitri at Piazza dei Martiri. This is the area directly across the Red Neon Advertisement sign and is also next to the building that is under construction at the ‘main/only major intersection’ in Calitri. There is no bus sign that indicates that this is where you catch the bus. Please ask for clarification if you are unsure. This ticket can be purchase onboard from the driver. The cost is 3.98Euro. The DiMaio bus schedule To Avellino is as follows: Calitri Departure / Avellino Arrival 04.50 / 06.20* 06.15 / 07.45 08.10 / 09.45 13.48 / 15.18 17.05 / 18.35 Please note that the bus that is highlighted in red is the only bus that runs on Sunday (it runs on weekdays and Saturdays too). The bus makes stops along the way at Lioni, B.Morra, and Conza. *The early morning bus arriving at Avellino at 06.20 is timed to coincide with the 06.30 Marozzi bus connection for Rome. Once you reach Avellino there will be what seems a confusion of buses and people. Don’t let this frighten you. The buses are arranged in two rows. If you are catching the bus to Naples, your bus will be located in the first row closest to the street and is normally the 1st – 3rd bus from the corner. Before you board the bus, you will need to buy a ticket from the Biglieteria. The Biglieteria is located where the beginning of the bus rows are but across the street. Look for the building with the Pink balconies (see Photo) the Biglieteria is there. Ticket price 3.20 Euro. From Avellino to the Naples Airport The buses run every hour on the hour from 8:00-17:00 but there are buses to the airport at early as 6.40, 7.00, 7.10 & 7.50. You can check for exact times on the A.IR website: www.air-spa.it. • Select Italian as English is not running yet. • Select Percorsi e Orari • Select Partenze da Avellino per Napoli • The hours that are underlined are the times for the buses at Naples Airport. ➢ (Note: After the bus leaves the airport, the next stop is the Naples Train Station) • The hours that are NOT underlined are the times for the buses at Naples Central Train Station. From Avellino to the Naples Central Train Station Follow the instruction above to access the schedule and select a time that is NOT underlined to reach the Train Station. *Avellino to Naples Train Station takes a little over an hour.
