BrindisiBrindisi is located in the Region of Puglia. Visit the historical center of Brindisi which is laid out on a little peninsula between two arms of the sea. View the Cathedral, the Provincial Archaeological Museum, and the splendid Swabian-Aragonese castle. Shop for Italian clothes at some of the boutiques in the center of town, and then take an afternoon trip to Santa Maria di Leuca, where the Adriatic and the Ionio seas merge. Visit the Santa Maria di Leuca Sanctuary founded in the first century D.C., and try some of the renowned local olive oils and wines.Take a quick detour to the town of Otranto and visits its renowned Cathedral, meander through the fascinating, century-old historic centre. Pass through the town of Lecce, known as the "Florence of the South" because of its baroque architecture. Visit the Roman Amphitheater, the Basilica of Santa Croce, and the Duomo church. Stop off in Trani, back on the coast road, to enjoy the lovely medieval part of town and its picturesque fishing port. Last but not least, admire the Trani Cathedral, an offwhite building that contains three layers of separate churches, perched at the edge of the water.
